10 Things to Know About Me...

Since I'm still fairly new to this blog thing, I thought I'd preface myself a little bit. So here's 10 things that you may or may not already know about me.

1. I'm a TOTAL germaphobe!

My germaphobia has surfaced in the last few years. The idea of eating without washing or sanitizing my hands first, disgusts me. When I was little I didn't care at all, but now I can almost feel the germs crawling on my hands. Yuck! But, anyone who knows me knows that I always have "hanitizer" on my person at all times. So, feel free to ask if you're ever in a bind.

2. I don't handle high stress situations well.

My parents often refer to my sister and me as the perfect babysitting pair. I do the main part of the job by changing diapers, cooking, and maintaining the general well-being of the kids. Meanwhile, if you asked my sister to do these things, she will most likely throw cereal at the kids and yell, "fetch!" Food and a game, right?  But, if anything remotely close to an emergency happens, you need to find my sister. I will most likely be found curled up into a ball, while crying, and rocking myself in the corner.  So, hopefully you can reserve both of us for your date night babysitters.

3. I refuse to change the toilet paper roll.

I really do appreciate having an accessible toilet paper roll hanging on the holder (as long as its put with the tail coming out the back #unpopularopinion). However, I am completely incapable of actually caring enough to put the roll on the holder. The Queen of freaking England better be coming over if I was ever forced to do it. So, I need to marry someone who believes that changing the toilet paper roll, in fact, does not cause brain damage.

4. I am not a reader.

I know the whole girl with glasses can give off the vibe that I can get lost in a good book. However, the total opposite is true. I cannot stand reading! Before reading an article, I have to scroll to the bottom to make sure it's not to long, or else I won't read it. I've struggled with reading comprehension ever since I can remember. I mean, I probably should have tried harder when I was younger because, I could read at a 12th grade level when I was 10. But because I despised it so much, I can barely stay caught up in the books we read in school. Audible, anyone?

5. I cannot draw to save my life.

For some reason I also give off the vibe of an artistic person. Both my parents and my older sister are just so creatively gifted. But, I did not receive that gene. However, I always convinced my sister to do the artsy homework my teachers assigned to me. Anybody remember the amazing picture of Andrew Jackson that "I" drew for 8th grade US History? Yep, totally not me.

6. I love musicals and theater.

When I was a kid I got sick with strep a lot. Every time I stayed home from school I would watch The Phantom of the Opera. I grew to absolutely adore most, if not all musicals. Surprisingly enough, I'm not a Hamilton person. My favorites include, Phantom of the Opera, The Little Mermaid, Anything Goes, The Secret Garden, Bandstand, Beauty and the Beast, Hairspray, Dear Evan Hansen, Into the Woods, The Greatest Showman (technically counts?), Newsies, Wicked, Les Miserables, My Fair Lady, and ESPECIALLY Mamma Mia. I Jam out to Waterloo on a daily.

7. I spend way too much time watching TV.

I am an avid Netflix and Hulu participant. I probably spend an average of 2 hours (at least) watching TV a day. I mean, don't get me wrong. I am usually doing stuff while the show is on in the background. But I am pretty much obsessed with it. I've watched all 10 seasons of Friends three times. I've seen all 7 seasons of Gilmore Girls four times plus the Year in the life episodes multiple times, I've watched twice through Parks and Recreation, and I'm currently knee deep in Grey's Anatomy.

8. Stand-Up Comedy is the best thing since sliced bread.

Netflix comedy specials are my absolute favorite. Brian Reagan, Jim Gaffigan, Angela Johnson, and John Mulaney are all the people I aspire to be. Most of my comedic comments come from a combination of them, and my best friend. Because I obviously can't be expected to be originally funny. Also, Vines are life. Fre Sha Vocado!

9. I bake.

I've loved baking all kinds of sweets ever since I made my mom a "birthday cake" and used pure gel food coloring as the "frosting." Yum. But I can now make everything from chocolate chip cookies, to fondant cakes, to french pastries. Eclairs, anyone? But oddly enough, I can't make a pancake. "...and someday I hope to make the perfect creme brûlée."

10. I am by no means a "Writer".

I've always struggled with writing in school. Especially creative writing. I'm pretty good at argumentative writing, but the whole idea of creating and keeping up with a lifestyle blog is a real stretch for me. I'm gonna really try to put out the best possible content, but I'm still learning. Hopefully, this can help develop my skills a little more. But I hope this wasn't too painful to read.

So, there's 10 things about me. Until next time. Remember who you are and what you stand for.
